All ports work properly with a Windows 10 dell xps 13 except for the pass trough power delivery. In short you can not use your XPS's power supply connected to the USB C port on the adapter to power your laptop.Update Apr/3/17: After extensive trial and error with different laptops I discovered that the pass through charging works OK with a charger larger (>30W) than the one included with the XPS 13. An HP charger rated at 65W has no problem passing power from the adapters USB C port to the laptop. I hope the manufacturer picks up on this and lists it as a requirement in the product description.
Works for what I need it to. Space Gray color closely matches that of the MacBook Pro model I have.
Updated: I started experiencing "cut outs" where the video to my monitor drops for approximately 1-2 seconds. This happens irregularly, but I will estimate it to be one or twice an hour. I still use it, but I think I would look at other models going forward.Original:This is what I use to connect my external monitor so I can use two monitors on my MacBook Pro as well as use a Logitech Unifying remote. The new MacBooks don't come with USB Type A connectors and I didn't want to have a bunch of different dongles. It works great, but there are limitations. It can't have two USB 3 HDD running without having power supplied. It will dismount one or both drives due to the power load. If you need to do it, it has to have the USB C charger plugged in. Despite this limitation it is a very well crafted and handy device!
I was looking for a small dongle to allow me to plug a few USB ports into my new Macbook and this has been working perfectly.It's small, easy to use, no issues at all.
Recently got the new macbook (MBP) from work and I wanted to set up a home office for which I was considering buying a multiport adapter so that I am able to reuse my existing HDMI/USB cables. This product fit my needs and I was skeptic if it would work well with the new MBP as it's recently out in the market, but it worked like a charm. No problems so far. Only a touch too expensive I guess as aggregate cost of a decent USB-C to HDMI cable and USB-C to USB cable would be same as this product. I bought it since I already had few good cables I could use.
Firstly I was searching for a USB type C hub and then I found this. I don't have a type C laptop yet but this adapter is working very well whit my Nexus 6P as a Hub and power through (when I select the option in Android).I used an external HDD (connectig the power into the adapter first) and at same time a mouse and it works great. I couldnt tested the HDMI feature because my Nexus doesnt support display output but i know that when i get my type C laptop it will work fine.I am really surprised about the quality. It feels firm, well builded and the way the ports are arranged point to a well desing.I really do recomend this adapter.
I have a Dell XPS 13 9360. I was deciding between Minix, Apple or Shuttle HooToo. I wasn't really sure if the Minix Neo C Mini would work with XPS 13 since there isn't any review, but I gave it a shot anyway. First impression after opening the package is the adapter is very good size. Slim and portable. The adapter has a metal top and a plastic bottom, which gives it a very premium feel. I plugged it into my XPS 13 and Windows 10 detected it right away. Within 15 seconds, all drivers were installed. Immediately, I plugged a USB 3.0 HDD to the adapter and it was working right away. Then I plugged in my monitor to it via HDMI, everything work as expected. With monitor and HDD both connected, I tested transfer rate on the HDD and I was getting USB 3.0 speed. I have not test any pass through charging yet since I do not have any USB C charger. I will test it when I find one handy. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase.Correction: The bottom is also made of metal. It feels very sturdy.Update:2017/4/4 - Because of Christian G, I went around looking for a USB C charger to test pass through charging. I tested with a 87W Macbook pro charger. The XPS 13 charges just fine. However, the XPS 13's optional USB C charger is 45W. It may not have the same result since the Minix will take some power away. I will update my review again when I find a 45W USB C charger.Update 2017/5/4 - Finally bought myself a Targus 45 Watt USB-C charger. Pass through charging works fine on the XPS 13.
