This adapter has worked mostly perfectly. Occasionally, there is some weird distortion on my external monitor and I have to unplug the adapter and put it back in again for it to resolve. It doesn't happen often enough to be a huge pain, though. Over all though I'm super happy I bought this so that I can use a 27" screen with my Macbook at work.

Kind of large, and not very Apple-sexy to have this bulky thing coming out of your sexy macbook...but, I think the idea is that you're not using it often...and that's what I'm finding. I'll really only use this when I'm traveling, and need to charge my iPhone next to it...or when I'm presenting/training. Otherwise, it stays in the bag.One thing I wish was different? WHITE?! My macbook is not white - wish this was metallic, and looked more like my space gray macbook. And less like a plasticky 1999 iMac accessory :)

USYes, It costs too much. Do you need it? Yes if you do any type of presentations, older external monitors or need the USB port. It charges the laptop fine from the Power Adapter through this adapter and USB Drive works fine for me.Tested with Acer 24in Screen and 3x different model Samsung projectors at work. No issues.

USThis works very well, and can charge your MackBook while at the same time using the USB port (e.g. to charge an iPhone). Please note that without plugging the adaptor into the MacBook it does not allow you to charge a phone (plugging in the USB-C power cord into the adaptor is not sufficient).
