Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 in for review

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 in for review

Samsung’s latest flip-foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip7, is now in for review, and it’s already generating quite a buzz. While it may fly a bit under the radar compared to its sibling, the Galaxy Z Fold7, many believe the Flip7 will be the more popular choice among consumers due to its sleek design and practical form factor. Samsung continues to refine the flip-phone experience with this new iteration, focusing on both aesthetics and usability.

The retail package remains simple and straightforward — you get the phone, a SIM eject tool, and a USB-C cable. The Galaxy Z Flip7 is available in two configurations: 12GB RAM with either 256GB or 512GB of storage. Customers can choose from four colors: Blue Shadow, Jet Black, Coral Red, and an online-exclusive Mint, providing options that cater to a variety of tastes.

One of the biggest upgrades in the Z Flip7 is the cover screen, which has grown significantly from 3.4 inches to 4.1 inches, stretching from edge to edge. To accommodate this larger screen, Samsung slimmed down the bezels and slightly adjusted the phone’s dimensions, making it a bit wider and taller. Despite these changes, the Flip7 remains compact when folded, measuring 13.7mm thick closed and 6.5mm when opened — thinner than its predecessor.

The inner display has also seen an improvement, increasing in size from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches, offering users a noticeably larger screen experience. Meanwhile, the cover screen has become smarter too. By default, it acts like a big Galaxy Watch, showing widgets rather than full apps. However, users can enable all apps on the cover screen via Samsung Labs and the Galaxy Store app MultiStar. While not all apps optimize fully for the outer screen, the ability to use more apps there is a welcome addition — though it still falls short compared to Motorola’s Razr 60 Ultra, which allows any app on its cover screen without any tweaks.

We’re excited to dive deeper into the Galaxy Z Flip7 and provide a thorough review soon. Our team is working hard to test all the latest phones we have, so please bear with us as we explore everything this innovative device has to offer. Stay tuned for detailed insights, and thanks for your patience!

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra won’t have an under-display camera

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra won't have an under-display camera

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra won’t have an under-display camera

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will not feature an under-display camera, a decision that may come as a relief to many users. Samsung had previously integrated under-display cameras in its Galaxy Z Fold lineup, but these cameras were not particularly impressive. Although there were rumors suggesting the S26 Ultra might adopt this technology, recent reports from Korea have contradicted that, stating the device will instead use a more conventional hole-punch camera setup. This change comes after Samsung faced significant challenges with under-display camera technology, including issues related to cost and performance, with camera quality likely being a key concern.

Samsung had initially planned to incorporate the under-display camera into the S26 Ultra for a cleaner, all-screen design. However, after encountering difficulties with the technology, the company has decided to delay its use in flagship slab-style smartphones. Samsung is likely waiting until under-display cameras can provide quality comparable to traditional cameras before they become a mainstay in their high-end devices. As a result, the S26 Ultra will stick with a design that prioritizes reliability and proven camera performance.

Seamless Updates Confirmed? Exciting New Rumors About the Galaxy S25 Lineup!

Seamless Updates Confirmed? Exciting New Rumors About the Galaxy S25 Lineup!

Seamless Updates Confirmed? Exciting New Rumors About the Galaxy S25 Lineup!

Hearing about Seamless Updates Confirmed? Exciting New Rumors About the Galaxy S25 Lineup! A few weeks ago, a rumor surfaced suggesting that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 series, including the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, would be the first flagship lineup from the brand to support Android’s seamless updates. Now, a new report from Android Authority backs up this claim, citing leaked files from the Galaxy S25 Ultra that confirm the inclusion of this long-awaited feature. This move isn’t entirely unexpected—Samsung took its first step toward adopting seamless updates this year. Plus, expanding it to their flagship devices was only a matter of time.

Seamless updates, introduced by Google eight years ago, make software updates smoother and more convenient. They work using two system partitions—one for running the operating system and the other as a backup. So, when a new update is available, it gets installed on the backup partition in the background. After restarting the device, the updated partition becomes active. This process means you can keep using your phone during updates.

Unlike regular updates that lock you out of your device until the installation is complete, which can be inconvenient in emergencies. Currently, the Galaxy A55 is the only Samsung smartphone supporting seamless updates, as of December 2024. While the feature requires additional storage for the dual partitions. Samsung has already demonstrated a solution on the Galaxy A55 to minimize user storage impact. Furthermore, if the same optimization is applied to the Galaxy S25 lineup. Users can look forward to enjoying seamless updates without sacrificing storage capacity, marking a significant step forward in Samsung’s software experience.
