Apple’s New iPhone 16 To Get Removable Batteries
Yes, you heard it right! The tech giant Apple’s New iPhone 16 To Get Removable Batteries. Apple is gearing up to launch its highly anticipated iPhone 16 series in a few months. Following the recent unveiling of new iOS 18 features and updates at its World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC), the tech giant has begun rolling out beta versions of these updates.
Recent reports indicate that Apple is developing technology aimed at simplifying the replacement of iPhone batteries, as reported by Forbes. The Information disclosed that Apple is exploring a new technology known as “electrically induced adhesive debonding”. Currently, iPhone batteries are securely adhered to the chassis with adhesive strips, making removal challenging. However, with the new technology, batteries could be released with a minor electric charge.
Additionally, sources suggest this innovation may debut in at least one model of the iPhone 16 and is slated to be a feature across the entire iPhone 17 lineup expected in 2025. This initiative aligns with the eco-design legislation passed by the European Union last year. The legislation mandates that smartphone batteries should be replaceable using either no tools, tools provided with the product, or basic tools.
