Consistent quality at reasonable prices!

I've bought a few Anker products over the years and I'm a very happy customer! This hub goes with a new MacBook Air that (of course) has limited ports. This one device saved me from buying a bunch of different cables and just plain works. You won't be disappointed.

USB C cord is a tad too short

5 stars would happen if the USB C cord was not so short, works great other wise! It just makes it hard to fit on my desk without it being in the way. Well built and is worthy of the Anker name!

solid feeling USB 3.0 dongle, but it has issues with a MacBook - update: No more issues

Update: I was contacted by Anker and sent a replacement unit free of charge. This unit performs great without the pause of the original unit. Anker Customer Support is top notch and I will definitely keep purchasing items from them (This is probably my 10th Anker product). I have changed my rating from a 3 to a 5 star as the product and the company behind it deserve it.This is a really nice piece of kit. It's solid and feels well constructed. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to play well with my 2018 15-inch MacBook. As soon as you plug it in, every 6 seconds or so, there's a short pause. When you look in the console logs, there's an HIDD error that shows up every time the pause happens. It still works and you can use it, albeit slowly. I tested this on my MacBook and my wife's MacBook and they both exhibit the same behavior.

Connect/Power USB-A devices while connected to USB-C laptop, like the Pixelbook

I am currently using this hub along with the Aukey 56.5 USB-C PD charger, or the stock Pixelbook USB-C charger. It allows USB-A devices, like thumb drives or external hard drives, to be used with the Pixelbook, and still power the laptop. So far, it does what it says it does, so there isn't anything to complain about from me. This hub comes with a cheap fabric "case", I store it in the case, but I'm not sure if that will continue because of the time it takes to fish the USB-C end down the sleeve built into the case, when packing up at an airport or coffee shop, it seems like it will end up being too cumbersome in the long run... a small zippered case would be more convenient for me. It should help the hub from getting scratches when tossed into a bag with other things.My Pixel 2's default, when plugged into this hub, while connected to power, is to be charging only (not data transfer). It isn't charging "rapidly", but does charge both the phone and the Pixelbook at once.Very convenient hub to allow USB-A devices, like USB drives, to be used with the Pixelbook. Also great for laptops without a SD card slot. You can charge your laptop, charge your phone, and transfer your photos.
