Wow...just wow
Originally bought the Nakamichi 7.2 and had issues with popping sounds from the rear speakers. After more research came across these and took a chance. Not disappointed in the slightest, sound quality is amazing and more defined, sub hits harder and rear speakers have more volume. Absolutely love them and have no issues with wireless connectivity. I'm really trying to find a flaw but can't.

Excellent 9.1 sound bar system. It’s easy setting up since all speakers are connected wirelessly. It’s supported both Dolby Atmos and DTS. $800 value is the best sound bar system in the market.

So I did a TON of research looking for a new soundbar setup and landed on the JBL Bar 9.1 as the winner. Check RTINGS or other professional reviews online for the details, but bottom line, there is no other soundbar on the market with a quality 10" sub, INCLUDED wireless Atmos surrounds and AirPlay/Google built in. Icing on the cake was eventually finding it as and Open-Box special at my local Best Buy saving me $350 off retail.I have mine hooked up via eARC to my new 65" Sony A8H OLED and the sound is IMPRESSIVE! The unit turns on and is controlled with the TV remote, turning the TV off puts it into standby mode. I've yet to even mount my rear surrounds, but even docked up front I'm super impressed with the dialogue clarity and bass response. Normal listening volume we have been in the 8-10 range (it goes to 40!) and have the sub set at level 3 (goes up to 5), so yeah it will shake the walls if you want it to. Had no real issues with setup, the prompts on the bars display kinda walks you through things and the full manual is available for download online for all the little details.*For reference, Shown on top of a 65" console below my 65" TV.Look no further, get the Bar 9.1 and rock out in Atmos style!!!

Something to consider before you purchase this unit
I bought this system through other website, tried it for couple of days and decided to return it, not because it’s bad, just it doesn’t fit my needs.I want to point out something if anyone wants to pull the trigger on this set.1. It sounds fantastic when watching movies, it really gives you a theater feel, very immersive. Then I paired it with my PC, sounded really good for gaming also. Music performance to my taste is just ok, not so impressed2. The rear speakers only charges when it’s in standby mode, or through usb cable.3. It doesn’t perform well at low volume, sounds like some cheap speakers, this is the main reason I returned this unit.4. I have this problem when I switching it back from Bluetooth paired PC to TV, it has no sound at all, I have to replug the power cord to fix this.5. Calibration could be a *****, needs connect the unit to the internet, and update the firmware first, then some restart eventually it will be done.So if you want to get a sound bar to feel the immersive Dolby atmos sound then this bar is a really good choice.

Pros1. Yes, wireless sub AND wireless surround speakers!2. surprising good warm JBL sound for music AND works with movies. Superb sound stage for a small bedroom3. great bass from the 10 inches subwoofer; makes the whole package sound big and nice.4. super easy to set up. It takes a fraction of time to set up AV receiver and running wires.5. build in calibration is easy to use6. Easy for daily use overall.7. It is easy to use for non-tech people and sound great.8. remote buttons have functions that are to the point and good for the majority of the users. I love the fact don’t need to down to all four and pull out subwoofer to adjust the dial BACK of the woofer9. Ethernet cable connection for steady streaming, movie or music10. simplicity of bluetooth streaming/control 24 bit sound from iphone/droid11. enough connect options as an entry-level setupCons1. center bottom of the bar gets warm, and there isn’t ventilation. as a reminder, the center bar is capable for 600 watts, and there is no vent.2. not ideal for 70-80 inches TV or a 100 inch projector screen. Bar needs to be wider, liked 15 more inches and a fuller sound3. missing the *loudness* on treble for music overall. Dialogs sound good and well balanced, however.4. missing treble adjustment on remote, well, may be there isn’t fuller treble on the high to being with.5. the volume jumps by a big increment when using the phone to change volume. Level 8 sound much louder from level 7. The volume adjustment would be nice to be smoother overall, liked using a manual dial6. It remembers one paired bluetooth. Paring a different bluetooth devices takes about 10 sec. It is ideal to have a list to reconnect/yank the previously paired devices.7. Remote is a must to pair. Have you ever lost a remote?8. no full function App to replace the remote; just lousy volume control9. the hole on wireless speaker is for wall mount only; limited options on stands for proper Dolby Atmos10. Expensive; but, nice. $600-700 new is more like it. But, it is priced slightly better for the sound quality than some other expensive and popular options. I’m trying not to name them here; you know who they are.Thanks for reading up to this point. I need a snicker bar and hope you get your fav bar, soon. :)

Awesome sound!!
I would have given this system 5 stars but it was a bit of a pain to set up and get atmos to pass through my tv. That being said I would do it all over again because once I got the thing figured out it’s by far the best sound bar I have ever owned and heard. My buddies have spent a little more on some other systems and I wouldn’t trade any of them this one.

Incredible sound experience
Speaking only for myself, I have to say that my experience with the JBL 9.1 soundbar has been excellent! I have mine hooked up through the eARC connection on my LG C9 65inch TV. I had to put it on pass through to get the Dolby Atmos effect. Everything works flawlessly! In fact, the more I have used it the better the sound has become. Sort of like a good pair of headphone that get better the more you use them. i know some people have had a problem with the dialogue clarity but so far I haven't had that problem. The big selling point for me was the detachable surround speakers because they are truly wireless. I can put them anywhere in my family room and I get surround sound and Dolby Atmos. Also the bass is on that 10 inch subwoofer is the best that I have heard in a long time. It has the quality of making even mundane tv shows and movies sound deep and 3 dimensional in their sound arc. Put on a movie that has Dolby Atmos and Dolby vision and you are in for a treat! It truly is a real theatre experience. I have played music with Spotify and Amazon Music. I'm hearing things in the music that i didn't know was there. The video games that I play on my Playstation P4 and my Xbox One S sound wonderful! I can hear everything from pinging bullets, to birds singing in the trees, to realistic rain and thunder, footsteps sneaking up on me and all the other sounds that make a video game rich and full when it comes to sound quality. So all in all, I have nothing but praise for this soundbar. I look forward to many, many years of enjoyment with this sound system.
