Really Impressive

Really impressed with this little PC. I got this for a public display, and it works just fine. Overall setup is fast. It's only used for browsing the internet, so nothing extreme here, but wow, I can't believe what they can pack into such a small case.

Perfect for the purpose.

I used this to rebuild a media center on my RV after an old laptop died. I only connected it to the internet to download the media player. Using a Vizio TV as a screen through HDMI, an external/USB hard drive that holds the media, and a wireless keyboard with mouse pad (none of that included with purchase, all previously owned by me). I couldn't be happier with the setup. If you have modest expectations (even on the internet) this will prove perfect. 4k TV users, audiophiles, intensive game players need not apply.

Love this thing

Coolest little computer in the world. Love this thing. Its quick enough for most computing tasks. We stream movies from our Plex server on this and it has no problems rendering out a 1080p stream.

This is a great little device

This is a great little device, does exactly what it says it will. with that said it WILL NOT run linux properly. wireless and audio, and display issues. You can hack on it for a while and get them to work, but the display is still twitchy. leave it in windows 10 you will be happier

Buyer Beware!

Beware! Whatever you purchase, no matter how well designed and constructed, is at risk of failing. Obviously, the better designed and constructed a product is, the less likely it will suffer failure. Nevertheless, it still occurs.When I initially selected and purchased this product, it was after doing a good deal of research. Finally, it came down to deciding between two very similar--almost identical--products. The one I did not choose is about twice the thickness with about the same footprint. You know which one I mean if you've been looking at specifications. The reason I chose this simpler-looking device was for two reasons: All other things being equal, this was a simpler construction, which I view as 'more reliable,' and the company MINIX just appeared to me to be more in touch with the customer via their forum. I chose the MINIX in October of 2016 and was extremely happy with the purchase... until July 2017. While being used, it just suddenly stopped. It froze in place. Rebooting failed. There was only a dim green pilot light (not the cobalt blue when properly operational). None of the usual published fixes and procedures on the forum worked at all. It was just a brick with a dim green light.In trying to get a return authorization, I made the mistake of trying to follow the procedure others used on the forum. I was becoming frustrated as no one was in contact with me no matter what messages I left with the person everyone spoke about, "John." This is where I believe the MINIX company can improve because there were no clear directions on their home web site on how to deal with a box still in warranty. Finally, I went back to the MINIX website directly, went to their Support page and looked for the return procedure. All I could find was a small, obscure link to contact them, which opened up a page with a form to type a message into. You know the kind. There's a drop down menu for the subject line. Problem was, none of the subjects were about return of defective goods. So, I winged it. Boy, did they get a piece of my mind! No personal slurs or foul language, mind you. But, I certainly made my disappointment clear, including WHY I purchased from MINIX in the first place. After clicking the send button, within 24 hours, on a Sunday night no less, there was a reply from... yup, John!Two days later, I was in possession of a replacement box. A box that was sent directly from Hong Kong! All based on my word that the unit had gone bad. On top of that, they trusted me further to return the defective device, on their dime. All I had to do was to print out the paperwork and label and take it to UPS, which I did today. After finishing this review, I will contact John to let him know that I've done that. This is the most outrageously outstanding, totally unexpected, and absolutely delightful customer service I think I've ever experienced.So, as I said in the subject line above, 'Buyer Beware.' I don't know about the return policies of the other competitor companies, but I've read their reviews and they don't all sound like hearts and roses to me. (Certainly not the other company whose box I nearly chose.) But, I can FIRST HAND tell you that MINIX delivers (literally) on their warranty. Thank you, John!Dano.

Initial problem - since resolved.

Wifi adapter failed after a week. Which is impressively terrible.Update: I reached out to the company (MINIX) and was impressed to find fantastic customer service, correcting the problem to my satisfaction. Computer now runs well with no problems.

Solid product but larger than I had expected

neat little product. performance is in line with my expectations based on what was written in other reviews here. however (and I suppose this is my own fault for not reading the dimensions carefully) I think it's a stretch to call it "palm size" computing. I've attached two pictures- one is my palming a regulation nba-sized basketball, and the other is holding the Minix Neo. what i'm trying to show here is that this isn't something that could be kept on a keychain, or even a pocket.
