iPhone 17 to come in two new colors

A recent report reveals that Apple is internally testing two new color options for the standard iPhone 17—Purple and Green. While both shades are under consideration, only one is expected to make it to the final lineup. At this stage, Purple appears to be the leading contender, though nothing has been finalized yet.

In addition to the potential new colors for the base model, Apple is also rumored to be exploring a fresh Sky Blue option for the iPhone 17 Pro. This move seems to be part of an effort to refresh the Pro model’s aesthetic and distinguish it from previous versions. Color updates are typically a major point of interest for iPhone launches and often generate significant consumer excitement.

However, the bigger news might be related to the display technology. A separate report from earlier this month suggests that both the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Air—expected to replace the current Plus model—will feature 120Hz displays. While this marks a notable upgrade in screen smoothness, the ProMotion feature set will reportedly remain exclusive to the higher-end Pro models.
