iPhone 17 Series To Have Big Display Upgrades

Update: Ross Young has removed the tweet that initially sparked this discussion. There was some confusion while responding to its notifications, and it turns out that the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will not feature under-display Face ID technology.

Original Story: The upcoming iPhone 17 series, which includes the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Slim (replacing the less popular Plus model), iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, is set to receive notable display upgrades next year, according to Ross Young from Display Supply Chain Consultants.

Young says that the standard iPhone 17 will finally incorporate a 120 Hz refresh rate and an LTPO OLED panel. This technology allows the refresh rate to adjust to very low levels, potentially as low as 1 Hz. This upgrade has been anticipated for a while since Apple has reserved high refresh rates. Exclusively for its Pro models, even with the iPhone 16 lineup. The iPhone 17 Slim will also feature, 120 Hz refresh rate and LTPO display. That is expected given that it’s intended to be a standout model. Apple aims to offer appealing features like this to enhance its appeal.

Additionally, as for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, rumors suggest they will include under-display Face ID, a feature that has been speculated for some time. If this technology arrives, the Dynamic Island may be altered or removed, leading to a sleeker design with only a small cutout for the front camera. This would align the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max more closely with current flagship Android phones.
